The deadline for the Customer to decide the returns is 4 weeks from when MEEST informed the Customer, after this the goods will be automatically utilized.

If the Customer does not agree with the default process of the returns, it should contact the MEEST account manager for further information about other returns handling solutions.

Is it possible to make the return of parcels?

Undelivered parcels can be returned at the request of the Sender.

Meest China reports and sends the list of parcels to the Sender. The Sender is obliged to confirm which service it prefers: return or destroy of undelivered parcels.

  • upon expiration of the retention period;

What should I do if my parcel has been stopped by customs in Ukraine?

First of all, don’t worry. Prepare financial documents, invoices, screenshots of the order, etc. indicating the name and value of the goods in the parcel.
A document confirming the value is an invoice or order from an online shop, a bank statement stamped and signed by the cashier, and/or a link to the goods.
Upload documents to your web account for delayed parcels, a link to which will be sent in an SMS message to the specified mobile phone number of the parcel recipient.

What is the timeframe for holding a parcel at customs in Ukraine in case of delay?

On average, it takes about 14 days from the time a parcel arrives at IMPO and is sent out of customs.
First, a report is drawn up at customs, listing the contents of the parcel. This procedure takes from 7 to 10 working days. After the act has already been drawn up, the recipient of the parcel is sent an SMS message to the specified mobile phone number with a link to the personal Web account of delayed parcels, where documents must be sent for consideration by the customs service of Ukraine.
Unfortunately, Meest China does not influence the time a parcel stays at customs or the speed of checking the contents of parcels and documents. Decisions are made in the order in which parcels are delayed!

How does Customs in Ukraine calculate the payments?

If the customer cannot confirm the value of the parcel, the customs inspectors determine the value themselves.
Customs takes prices from its database or the prices of the sending country for similar goods.

What should be done if the value of the parcel exceeds the customs limit of 150€ in Ukraine?

If a parcel contains several items with a value exceeding 150€, the best solution is to divide these items into several parcels and send the parcels in such a time interval that they arrive at customs on different days of the week.
If the value of the shipment exceeds the equivalent of 150€, you will have to pay 20% VAT. In addition, such parcels will be subject to a 10% duty on the amount exceeding the equivalent of 150€.
Examples of calculation of customs from 3 May 2022:
Value of goods 200€
Duty: (200 – 150) x 10% = 5€
VAT (200 – 150 + 5€) x 20% = 11€
Customs duties: 16€

What is the procedure for registering parcels over 150€ in Ukraine, and what should the recipient do?

The parcel arrives at the IMPO in Lviv, the customs office delays it, and you receive sms-notifications;
Within 3 working days, a message will be sent to the recipient’s mobile phone number with a list of documents to be submitted to customs;
Within 7-10 working days, customs will make an inventory of the parcel’s contents. After that, the documents submitted by the recipient will be reviewed. Next, the recipient will receive an SMS notification with the decision of customs on the amount of duty and details for payment;
After payment, the customs will deliver the parcel to Ukraine within 2-4 working days.

How to avoid any problems at customs in Ukraine?

Indicate the category and name of the item exactly as it appears in the parcel’s contents
Indicate the actual danger status of the item – simple, containing liquids and batteries. Record whether the parcel contains goods of well-known brands.
Indicate the real value of the goods and the quantity. Customs has the right to stop the parcel to clarify the value according to the invoice.

What are the main reasons why parcels are detained by Customs in Ukraine?

The value of the goods in the parcel exceeds 150€;
Control of goods subject to intellectual property verification;
Checking the declared value of the goods in the parcel and the presence of dangerous goods. International parcels are scanned for specific and dangerous goods before being dispatched from a Chinese airport. If your parcel is deemed dangerous by airport security, the shipment is returned to the warehouse for re-styling and sent out of China on the next flight. Airport security does not comment on their return decision. Please specify the type of goods correctly when registering your parcel in your account;
Suspicion of evasion of customs duties when transporting a large number of goods in one parcel.
